I Samuel 13

Saul reigned one year; and when he had reigned two years over Israel,

Саул беше на четиридесет години, когато се възцари; и царува две години над Израил.

Saul chose him three thousand men of Israel; whereof two thousand were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Beth–el, and a thousand were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin: and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.

И Саул си избра три хиляди мъже от Израил; две хиляди бяха със Саул в Михмас и в хълмистата земя на Ветил, а хиляда бяха с Йонатан в Гавая Вениаминова. А останалия народ изпрати всеки по шатрите му.

And Jonathan smote the garrison of the Philistines that was in Geba, and the Philistines heard of it. And Saul blew the trumpet throughout all the land, saying, Let the Hebrews hear.

И Йонатан разби гарнизона на филистимците, който беше в Гава, и филистимците чуха това. Тогава Саул засвири с тръбата по цялата земя и каза: Нека чуят евреите!

And all Israel heard say that Saul had smitten a garrison of the Philistines, and that Israel also was had in abomination with the Philistines. And the people were called together after Saul to Gilgal.

И целият Израил чу да се казва: Саул разбил гарнизона на филистимците и Израил е станал омразен на филистимците. И народът се събра след Саул в Галгал.

And the Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the sea shore in multitude: and they came up, and pitched in Michmash, eastward from Beth–aven.

А филистимците се събраха да се бият с Израил: тридесет хиляди колесници и шест хиляди конници, и народ като пясъка на морския бряг по множество. И се изкачиха и се разположиха на стан в Михмас, на изток от Ветавен.

When the men of Israel saw that they were in a strait, (for the people were distressed,) then the people did hide themselves in caves, and in thickets, and in rocks, and in high places, and in pits.

И израилевите мъже видяха, че бяха в беда, защото народът беше притиснат; и народът се скри в пещери, в гъсталаци, по скали, по височини и в ровове.

And some of the Hebrews went over Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. As for Saul, he was yet in Gilgal, and all the people followed him trembling.

И евреите преминаха Йордан към земята на Гад и Галаад. А Саул беше още в Галгал и целият народ го следваше треперейки.

And he tarried seven days, according to the set time that Samuel had appointed: but Samuel came not to Gilgal; and the people were scattered from him.

Тогава той чака седем дни, според определеното от Самуил време, но Самуил не дойде в Галгал; а народът се разпръсваше от него.

And Saul said, Bring hither a burnt offering to me, and peace offerings. And he offered the burnt offering.

Затова Саул каза: Донесете ми всеизгарянето и примирителните жертви! И той принесе всеизгарянето.

And it came to pass, that as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, behold, Samuel came; and Saul went out to meet him, that he might salute him.

И когато свърши принасянето на всеизгарянето, ето, Самуил дойде; и Саул излезе да го посрещне и да го поздрави.

And Samuel said, What hast thou done? And Saul said, Because I saw that the people were scattered from me, and that thou camest not within the days appointed, and that the Philistines gathered themselves together at Michmash;

А Самуил каза: Какво си направил? И Саул каза: Понеже видях, че народът се разпръсва от мен и че ти не дойде в определеното време, а филистимците са се събрали в Михмас,

Therefore said I, The Philistines will come down now upon me to Gilgal, and I have not made supplication unto the LORD: I forced myself therefore, and offered a burnt offering.

затова казах: Сега филистимците ще слязат срещу мен в Галгал, а аз не съм се помолил на ГОСПОДА. Затова се принудих и принесох всеизгарянето.

And Samuel said to Saul, Thou hast done foolishly: thou hast not kept the commandment of the LORD thy God, which he commanded thee: for now would the LORD have established thy kingdom upon Israel for ever.

И Самуил каза на Саул: Извършил си безумие. Не си спазил заповедта на ГОСПОДА, своя Бог, която Той ти заповяда. Защото сега ГОСПОД щеше да утвърди царството ти над Израил до века.

But now thy kingdom shall not continue: the LORD hath sought him a man after his own heart, and the LORD hath commanded him to be captain over his people, because thou hast not kept that which the LORD commanded thee.

Но сега царството ти няма да се утвърди. ГОСПОД си потърси човек по сърцето Си и ГОСПОД определи него за княз над народа Си, понеже ти не спази онова, което ГОСПОД ти заповяда.

And Samuel arose, and gat him up from Gilgal unto Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people that were present with him, about six hundred men.

И Самуил стана и отиде от Галгал в Гавая Вениаминова. А Саул преброи народа, който беше с него, около шестстотин мъже.

And Saul, and Jonathan his son, and the people that were present with them, abode in Gibeah of Benjamin: but the Philistines encamped in Michmash.

И Саул и синът му Йонатан, и народът, който беше с него, останаха в Гавая Вениаминова; а филистимците се бяха разположили на стан в Михмас.

And the spoilers came out of the camp of the Philistines in three companies: one company turned unto the way that leadeth to Ophrah, unto the land of Shual:

И от филистимския стан излязоха нападатели на три части: една част се отправи по пътя към Офра, към земята Согал;

And another company turned the way to Beth–horon: and another company turned to the way of the border that looketh to the valley of Zeboim toward the wilderness.

друга част се отправи по пътя към Веторон; и трета част се отправи по посока на границата, която гледа към долината Цевоим към пустинята.

Now there was no smith found throughout all the land of Israel: for the Philistines said, Lest the Hebrews make them swords or spears:

А по цялата израилева земя не се намираше ковач, защото филистимците бяха казали: Да не би евреите да си направят мечове или копия.

But all the Israelites went down to the Philistines, to sharpen every man his share, and his coulter, and his axe, and his mattock.

И целият Израил слизаше при филистимците, за да си наточи всеки острието на плуга си, лопатата си, брадвата си и сърпа си.

Yet they had a file for the mattocks, and for the coulters, and for the forks, and for the axes, and to sharpen the goads.

И наточването струваше две трети от сикъла за сърповете, лопатите, вилите и брадвите и за да наострят остените си.

So it came to pass in the day of battle, that there was neither sword nor spear found in the hand of any of the people that were with Saul and Jonathan: but with Saul and with Jonathan his son was there found.

И в деня на битката не се намери нито меч, нито копие в ръката на целия народ, който беше със Саул и Йонатан; но у Саул и у сина му Йонатан се намериха.

And the garrison of the Philistines went out to the passage of Michmash.

А постът на филистимците излезе към прохода на Михмас.
