Psalms 48

यहोवा महान है! वह परमेश्वर के नगर, उसके पवित्र नगर में प्रशंसनीय है।

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness.

परमेश्वर का पवित्र नगर एक सुन्दर नगर है। धरती पर वह नगर सर्वाधिक प्रसन्न है। सिय्योन पर्वत सबसे अधिक ऊँचा और सर्वाधिक पवित्र है। यह नगर महा सम्राट का है।

Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.

उस नगर के महलों में परमेश्वर को सुरक्षास्थल कहा जाता है।

God is known in her palaces for a refuge.

एकबार कुछ राजा आपस में आ मिले और उन्हेंने इस नगर पर आक्रमण करने का कुचक्र रचा। सभी साथ मिलकर चढ़ाई के लिये आगे बढ़े।

For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.

राजा को देखकर वे सभी चकित हुए। उनमें भगदड़ मची और वे सभी भाग गए।

They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away.

उन्हें भय ने दबोचा, वे भय से काँप उठे!

Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.

प्रचण्ड पूर्वी पवन ने उनके जलयानों को चकनाचूर कर दिया।

Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.

हाँ, हमने उन राजाओं की कहानी सुनी है और हमने तो इसको सर्वशक्तिमान यहोवा के नगर में हमारे परमेश्वर के नगर में घटते हुए भी देखा। यहोवा उस नगर को सुदृढ़ बनाएगा।

As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah.

हे परमेश्वर, हम तेरे मन्दिर में तेरी प्रेमपूर्ण करूणा पर मनन करते हैं।

We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple.

हे परमेश्वर, तू प्रसिद्ध है. लोग धरती पर हर कहीं तेरी स्तुति करते हैं। हर मनुष्य जानता है कि तू कितना भला है।

According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.

हे परमेश्वर, तेरे उचित न्याय के कारण सिय्योन पर्वत हर्षित है। और यहूदा की नगरियाँ आनन्द मना रही हैं।

Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.

सिय्योन की परिक्रमा करो। नगरी के दर्शन करो। तुम बुर्जो (मीनारों) को गिनो।

Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof.

ऊँचे प्राचीरों को देखो। सिय्योन के महलों को सराहो। तभी तुम आने वाली पीढ़ी से इसका बखान कर सकोगे।

Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following.

सचमुच हमारा परमेश्वर सदा सर्वदा परमेश्वर रहेगा। वह हमको सदा ही राह दिखाएगा। उसका कभी भी अंत नहीं होगा।

For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
