Psalms 12

हे यहोवा, मेरी रक्षा कर! खरे जन सभी चले गये हैं। मनुष्यों की धरती में अब कोई भी सच्चा भक्त नहीं बचा है।

Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.

लोग अपने ही साथियों से झूठ बोलते हैं। हर कोई अपने पड़ोसियों को झूठ बोलकर चापलूसी किया करता है।

They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

यहोवा उन ओंठों को सी दे जो झूठ बोलते हैं। हे यहोवा, उन जीभों को काट जो अपने ही विषय में डींग हाँकते हैं।

The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:

ऐसे जन सोचते है, “हमारी झूठें हमें बड़ा व्यक्ति बनायेंगी। कोई भी व्यक्ति हमारी जीभ के कारण हमें जीत नहीं पायेगा।”

Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

किन्तु यहोवा कहता है: “बुरे मनुष्यों ने दीन दुर्बलों से वस्तुएँ चुरा ली हैं। उन्होंने असहाय दीन जन से उनकी वस्तुएँ ले लीं। किन्तु अब मैं उन हारे थके लोगों की रक्षा खड़ा होकर करुँगा।”

For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise, saith the LORD; I will set him in safety from him that puffeth at him.

यहोवा के वचन सत्य हैं और इतने शुद्ध जैसे आग में पिघलाई हुई श्वेत चाँदी। वे वचन उस चाँदी की तरह शुद्ध हैं, जिसे पिघला पिघला कर सात बार शुद्ध बनाया गया है।

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

हे यहोवा, असहाय जन की सुधि ले। उनकी रक्षा अब और सदा सर्वदा कर!

Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

ये दुर्जन अकड़े और बने ठने घूमते हैं। किन्तु वे ऐसे होते हैं जैसे कोई नकली आभूषण धारण करता है जो देखने में मूल्यवान लगते हैं, किन्तु वास्तव में बहुत ही सस्ते होते हैं।

The wicked walk on every side, when the vilest men are exalted.
