Joshua 15

Juudan lasten suvun arpa heidän huonettensa jälkeen oli Edomin maan rajaan, Sinin korven puoleen, joka etelän puoleen on, lounaan maan äärestä asti;

This then was the lot of the tribe of the children of Judah by their families; even to the border of Edom the wilderness of Zin southward was the uttermost part of the south coast.

And their south border was from the shore of the salt sea, from the bay that looketh southward:

And it went out to the south side to Maaleh–acrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and ascended up on the south side unto Kadesh–barnea, and passed along to Hezron, and went up to Adar, and fetched a compass to Karkaa:

Ja menee Atsmonin ohitse, ja tulee Egyptin ojaan, niin että sen maan rajan ääri on meri. Tämä pitää oleman teille maan raja lounaaseen päin.

From thence it passed toward Azmon, and went out unto the river of Egypt; and the goings out of that coast were at the sea: this shall be your south coast.

Vaan raja itään päin on Suolainen meri Jordanin suuhun asti; vaan raja pohjan puoleen on siitä meren lahdesta, joka on Jordanin ääressä,

And the east border was the salt sea, even unto the end of Jordan. And their border in the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the uttermost part of Jordan:

Ja menee ylös BetHoglaan, ja vetäytyy pohjasta BetAraban puoleen, ja menee ylös Rubenin pojan Bohenin kiven tykö.

And the border went up to Beth–hogla, and passed along by the north of Beth–arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben:

Ja raja käy ylös Debirin tykö Akorin laaksosta, ja pohjan puoleen Gilgaliin päin, joka on Adumimin paltan kohdalla, joka etelän puoleen on ojan vieressä; sitte se menee EnSemeksen vedelle, ja menee Rogelin lähteelle.

And the border went up toward Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is before the going up to Adummim, which is on the south side of the river: and the border passed toward the waters of En–shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En–rogel:

Sitte menee raja Hinnomin pojan laaksoon, Jebusilaisen ohitse lounaan päin, se on Jerusalem; ja raja menee vuoren kukkulan ylitse, joka on Hinnomin laakson edessä, meren tykö, joka on Rephaimin laakson äärellä pohjaan päin.

And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same is Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the valley of the giants northward:

Sitte käy se siitä vuoren kukkulasta Nephtoan lähteen tykö, ja menee Ephronin vuoren kaupunkein tykö, ja kääntyy Baalaan päin, joka on KirjatJearim.

And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which is Kirjath–jearim:

Ja menee Baalasta ympäri länteen päin Seirin vuoren tykö, ja menee ulos pohjan puolesta Jearin vuoren vieritse, se on Kessalon, ja tulee alas BetSemeksen tykö, ja menee Timnaan,

And the border compassed from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim, which is Chesalon, on the north side, and went down to Beth–shemesh, and passed on to Timnah:

Ja tulee ulos Ekronin vieritse pohjan puolelle, ja vetää hänensä Sikroniin asti, ja menee Baalan vuoren ylitse, ja tulee Jabneeliin, että hänen äärensä loppu on meri.

And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward: and the border was drawn to Shicron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out unto Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

Mutta raja länteen päin on suuri meri. Tämä on Juudan lasten maan raja, joka taholta ympäri heidän sukukunnissansa.

And the west border was to the great sea, and the coast thereof. This is the coast of the children of Judah round about according to their families.

Mutta Kalebille Jephunnen pojalle annettiin osa Juudan lasten keskellä, niinkuin Herra oli käskenyt Josualle, nimittäin KirjatArba, Enakilaisten isän kaupunki, se on Hebron.

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even the city of Arba the father of Anak, which city is Hebron.

Ja Kaleb ajoi sieltä pois kolme Enakin poikaa, Sesain, Akimananin ja Talmain, Enakin sikiät,

And Caleb drove thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

Ja meni sieltä ylös Debirin asuvaisten tykö; vaan Debir kutsuttiin muinen KirjatSepher.

And he went up thence to the inhabitants of Debir: and the name of Debir before was Kirjath–sepher.

Ja Kaleb sanoi: joka lyö KirjatSepherin ja voittaa sen, hänelle annan minä tyttäreni Aksan emännäksi.

And Caleb said, He that smiteth Kirjath–sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.

Niin voitti sen Otniel, Kenaksen Kalebin veljen poika; ja hän antoi tyttärensä Aksan hänelle emännäksi.

And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.

Ja tapahtui, kuin hän tuli, että hän neuvoi miestänsä anomaan peltoa isältänsä, ja hän astui aasin päältä alas; niin sanoi Kaleb hänelle: mikä sinun on?

And it came to pass, as she came unto him, that she moved him to ask of her father a field: and she lighted off her ass; and Caleb said unto her, What wouldest thou?

Ja hän sanoi: anna minulle siunaus, sillä sinä olet antanut minulle kuivan maan , anna minulle myös vesilähteitä; niin antoi hän hänelle lähteitä sekä ylhäältä että alhaalta.

Who answered, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a south land; give me also springs of water. And he gave her the upper springs, and the nether springs.

Tämä on Juudan lasten sukukunnan perimys, heidän sukuinsa jälkeen.

This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.

Ja kaupungit Juudan lasten sukukunnan äärestä, Edomin rajan tykönä, lounaaseen käsin olivat: Kabseel, Eder, Jagur,

And the uttermost cities of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the coast of Edom southward were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur,

Kina, Dimona, Adada;

And Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah,

Kedes, Hatsor, Jitnan;

And Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan,

Siph, Telem, Bealot;

Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth,

HatsorHadata, Kerijot, Hetsron, se on Hatsor;

And Hazor, Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron, which is Hazor,

Amam, Sema, Molada;

Amam, and Shema, and Moladah,

HatsarGadda, Hesmon, BetPalet;

And Hazar–gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth–palet,

HatsarSual, BeerSeba, BisJotja;

And Hazar–shual, and Beer–sheba, and Bizjothjah,

Baala, Ijim, Atsem;

Baalah, and Iim, and Azem,

Eltolad, Kesil, Horma;

And Eltolad, and Chesil, and Hormah,

Ziglag, Madmanna, Sansanna;

And Ziklag, and Madmannah, and Sansannah,

Lebaot, Silhim, Ain, Rimmon; yhdeksänkolmattakymmentä kaupunkia kylinensä.

And Lebaoth, and Shilhim, and Ain, and Rimmon: all the cities are twenty and nine, with their villages:

Vaan lakialla maalla oli Estaol, Zora, Asna;

And in the valley, Eshtaol, and Zoreah, and Ashnah,

Sanoa, EnGannim, Tappua, Enam;

And Zanoah, and En–gannim, Tappuah, and Enam,

Jarmut, Adullam, Soko, Aseka;

Jarmuth, and Adullam, Socoh, and Azekah,

Saaraim, Aditaim, Gedera, Gederotaim: neljätoistakymmentä kaupunkia ja heidän kylänsä;

And Sharaim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, and Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages:

Zenan, Hadasa, Migdalgad;

Zenan, and Hadashah, and Migdal–gad,

Dilean, Mitspe, Jokteel;

And Dilean, and Mizpeh, and Joktheel,

Lakis, Botskat, Eglon;

Lachish, and Bozkath, and Eglon,

Kabbon, Lakmas, Kitlis;

And Cabbon, and Lahmam, and Kithlish,

Gederot, BetDagon, Naama, Makkeda: kuusitoistakymmentä kaupunkia ja heidän kylänsä;

And Gederoth, Beth–dagon, and Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages:

Libna, Eter, Asan;

Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan,

Jephta, Asna, Nesib;

And Jiphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib,

Kegila, Aksib, Maresa: yhdeksän kaupunkia ja heidän kylänsä;

And Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages:

Ekron tyttärinensä ja kylinensä;

Ekron, with her towns and her villages:

Ekronista mereen asti, kaikki mikä ulottuu Asdodiin, ja heidän kylänsä;

From Ekron even unto the sea, all that lay near Ashdod, with their villages:

Asdod tyttärinensä ja kylinensä; Gasa tyttärinensä ja kylinensä, Egyptin veteen asti; ja se suuri meri on hänen rajansa.

Ashdod with her towns and her villages, Gaza with her towns and her villages, unto the river of Egypt, and the great sea, and the border thereof:

Mutta vuorella oli: Samir, Jatir, Soko;

And in the mountains, Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh,

Danna, KirjatSanna, se on Debir;

And Dannah, and Kirjath–sannah, which is Debir,

Anab, Estemo, Anim;

And Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim,

Gosen, Holon, Gilo: yksitoistakymmentä kaupunkia ja heidän kylänsä;

And Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages:

Arab, Duma, Esean;

Arab, and Dumah, and Eshean,

Janum, BetTapua, Apheka;

And Janum, and Beth–tappuah, and Aphekah,

Humta, KirjatArba, se on Hebron, Zior: yhdeksän kaupunkia ja heidän kylänsä;

And Humtah, and Kirjath–arba, which is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages:

Maon, Karmel, Siph, Juta;

Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah,

Jisreel, Jokdeam, Sanoa;

And Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah,

Kain, Kibea, Timna: kymmenen kaupunkia ja heidän kylänsä;

Cain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages:

Halhul, Betsur, Gedor;

Halhul, Beth–zur, and Gedor,

Maarat, BetAnot, Eltekon: kuusi kaupunkia ja heidän kylänsä;

And Maarath, and Beth–anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages:

KirjatBaal, se on KirjatJearim, Harabba: kaksi kaupunkia ja heidän kylänsä.

Kirjath–baal, which is Kirjath–jearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages:

Mutta korvessa oli BetAraba, Middin, Sekaka;

In the wilderness, Beth–arabah, Middin, and Secacah,

Nibsan, ja Suolakaupunki, Engedi; kuusi kaupunkia ja heidän kylänsä.

And Nibshan, and the city of Salt, and En–gedi; six cities with their villages.

Mutta Jebusilaiset asuivat Jerusalemissa, ja Juudan lapset ei voineet heitä ajaa ulos. Ja silloin jäivät Jebusilaiset asumaan Juudan lasten kanssa Jerusalemissa tähän päivään asti.

As for the Jebusites the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out: but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto this day.
