I John 4

Te rakkaimmat! älkäät jokaista henkeä uskoko, vaan koetelkaat henget, josko he Jumalasta ovat; sillä monta väärää prophetaa ovat tulleet maailmaan.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Sillä te tuntekaat Jumalan Henki, että jokainen henki, joka tunnustaa Jesuksen Kristuksen lihaan tulleen, se on Jumalasta,

Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:

Ja jokainen henki, joka ei tunnusta Jesusta Kristusta lihaan tulleeksi, ei se ole Jumalasta: ja se on antikristuksen henki, josta te kuulitte, että hän on tuleva, ja on jo parhaallansa maailmassa.

And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Lapsukaiseni, te olette Jumalasta ja olette heidät voittaneet; sillä se, joka teissä on, hän on suurempi kuin se, joka maailmassa on.

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

He ovat maailmasta, sentähden he puhuvat maailmasta ja maailma kuulee heitä.

They are of the world: therefore speak they of the world, and the world heareth them.

Me olemme Jumalasta: ja joka Jumalan tuntee, hän kuulee meitä; joka ei Jumalasta ole, ei hän kuule meitä. Siitä me tunnemme totuuden hengen ja eksytyksen hengen.

We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

Te rakkahimmat, rakastakaamme toinen toistamme, sillä rakkaus on Jumalasta: ja jokainen, joka rakastaa, se on Jumalasta syntynyt ja tuntee Jumalan.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

Joka ei rakasta, ei hän tunne Jumalaa; sillä Jumala on rakkaus.

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

Sen kautta ilmestyi Jumalan rakkaus meidän kohtaamme, että Jumala lähetti ainoan Poikansa maailmaan, että me hänen kauttansa eläisimme.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Siinä on rakkaus, ei että me rakastimme Jumalaa, vaan että hän rakasti meitä ja lähetti Poikansa sovinnoksi meidän synteimme edestä.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Te rakkahimmat, jos Jumala meitä niin rakasti, niin meidän pitää myös toinen toistamme rakastaman.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

Ei ole yksikään Jumalaa koskaan nähnyt. Jos me rakastamme toinen toistamme, niin Jumala pysyy meissä, ja hänen rakkautensa on täydellinen meissä.

No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

Siitä me tunnemme, että me pysymme hänessä ja hän meissä, ja että hän antoi meille Hengestänsä.

Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

Ja me näimme ja todistamme, että Isä on lähettänyt Poikansa maailman Vapahtajaksi.

And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

Jokainen, joka tunnustaa Jesuksen Jumalan Pojaksi, hänessä pysyy Jumala ja hän Jumalassa.

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

Ja me tunsimme ja uskoimme sen rakkauden, jolla Jumala meitä rakastaa. Jumala on rakkaus, ja joka rakkaudessa pysyy, hän pysyy Jumalassa ja Jumala hänessä.

And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

Siinä täytetään rakkaus meissä, että meillä olis turva tuomiopäivänä; sillä niinkuin hän on, niin olemme me myös tässä maailmassa.

Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

Ei pelko ole rakkaudessa, vaan täydellinen rakkaus ajaa pois pelvon, sillä pelvolla on vaiva; mutta joka pelkää, ei hän ole täydellinen rakkaudessa.

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

Me rakastamme häntä; sillä hän rakasti meitä ensin.

We love him, because he first loved us.

Jos joku sanoo: minä rakastan Jumalaa, ja vihaa veljeänsä, se on valehtelia; sillä joka ei rakasta veljeänsä, jonka hän näkee, kuinka hän taitaa Jumalaa rakastaa, jota ei hän näe?

If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

Ja tämä käsky on meillä häneltä: joka Jumalaa rakastaa, hänen pitää myös veljeänsä rakastaman.

And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
