Psalms 4

ای خدا، ای مدافع من، دعای مرا مستجاب فرما. هرگاه پریشان بودم، تو به فریاد من رسیدی، اکنون نیز از روی کَرَم، دعای مرا بشنو.

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

ای مردم، تا به کی به من اهانت می‌کنید؟ تا به کی چیزهای باطل را دوست خواهید داشت و از آنها پیروی خواهید کرد؟

O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.

بدانید که خداوند نیکوکاران را برای خود انتخاب کرده است. وقتی به حضور او دعا می‌کنم، دعای مرا می‌شنود.

But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

خشم سبب گناه شما نشود. وقتی‌که به بستر خود می‌روید، در سکوت تفکّر کنید.

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

برای خداوند قربانی‌های شایسته تقدیم کنید و به او توکّل نمایید.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

بسا کسانی‌که می‌پرسند: «آیا خوشبختی را خواهیم دید؟» خداوندا، بر ما رحمت فرما.

There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

خوشی فراوان در قلب من نهاده‌ای، زیادتر از خوشی‌ای که مردم از مشاهدهٔ محصول فراوان خود می‌بینند.

Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

آسوده به بستر می‌روم و می‌خوابم، زیرا ای خداوند، تو یگانه کسی هستی که به من اطمینان می‌بخشی.

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
