Psalms 16

خدایا، مرا محافظت فرما، زیرا به تو پناه آورده‌ام.

Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.

به خداوند گفتم: «تو خداوند من هستی، و هر چیز نیكویی که دارم، از توست.»

O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;

ایمانداران این سرزمین، اشخاص نجیبی هستند و دلخوشی من به ایشان است.

But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.

آنهایی که پیرو خدایان دیگر هستند، غم و اندوهشان زیاد می‌شود. در مراسم قربانی‌های آنها شرکت نمی‌کنم و نام آنها را ذکر هم نخواهم کرد.

Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.

خداوندا، تو همه‌چیز من هستی و آنچه را که نیاز دارم، به من عطا کرده‌ای. آیندهٔ من در دست توست.

The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.

آنچه را که نصیب من کرده‌ای بسیار عالی و نیکوست.

The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

خداوند را شکر می‌کنم، زیرا که مرا راهنمایی می‌کند. شبانگاه نیز وجدانم به من هشدار می‌دهد.

I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: my reins also instruct me in the night seasons.

هرگز خدا را فراموش نمی‌کنم، او همیشه نزد من است، هیچ چیز نمی‌تواند مرا بلغزاند.

I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

بنابراین سپاسگزار و شادمان هستم و احساس امنیّت کامل می‌کنم.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.

زیرا تو مرا از قدرت مرگ رهایی می‌رهانی. من با وفاداری تو را خدمت کرده‌ام و تو جانم را در دنیای مردگان ترک نخواهی کرد.

For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

تو راه زندگی را به من نشان خواهی داد. حضور تو، مرا از خوشی لبریز می‌کند و به من شادی ابدی می‌بخشد.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
