Malachi 4

خداوند متعال می‌فرماید: «روز داوری مانند تنورِ شعله‌ور فرا می‌رسد و همهٔ اشخاص متکبّر و شریر را مانند کاه می‌سوزاند. آنها طوری می‌سوزند که هیچ چیزی از آنها باقی نخواهد ماند.

For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

امّا برای شما که از نام من می‌ترسید، آفتاب عدالت با پرتو شفابخش خود طلوع خواهد کرد. شما مانند گوساله‌ها از خوشی جست و خیز خواهید کرد.

But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.

در آن روز معیّن، بدکاران را مانند خاکستر در زیر کف پاهایتان لگدمال خواهید نمود.

And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

«قوانین، دستورات و تعالیمی را که بر کوه‌سینا توسط بنده‌ام، موسی به همهٔ قوم اسرائیل دادم، فراموش نکنید.

Remember ye the law of Moses my servant, which I commanded unto him in Horeb for all Israel, with the statutes and judgments.

«پیش از فرا رسیدن آن روز عظیم و هولناک که روز داوری خداوند است، من ایلیای نبی را نزد شما می‌فرستم.

Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:

او دلهای پدران و فرزندان را به هم نزدیک می‌سازد تا مبادا من سرزمین شما را با نفرین خود ویران کنم.»

And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.
