Proverbs 7

Mia filo! konservu miajn vortojn, Kaj gardu ĉe vi miajn moralordonojn.

My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee.

Konservu miajn moralordonojn, kaj vivu; Kaj mian instruon, kiel la pupilon de viaj okuloj.

Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.

Ligu ilin al viaj fingroj; Skribu ilin sur la tabelo de via koro.

Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.

Diru al la saĝo: Vi estas mia fratino; Kaj la prudenton nomu mia parencino;

Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman:

Por ke vi estu gardata kontraŭ fremda edzino, Kontraŭ fremdulino, kies paroloj estas glataj.

That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words.

Ĉar mi rigardis tra fenestro de mia domo, Tra mia krado;

For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

Kaj mi vidis inter la naivuloj, Mi rimarkis inter la nematuruloj junulon senprudentan,

And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

Kiu pasis sur la placo preter ŝia angulo, Kaj iris la vojon al ŝia domo,

Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

En krepusko, en vespero de tago, Kiam fariĝis nokto kaj mallumo.

In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

Kaj jen renkonte al li iras virino En ornamo de publikulino, ruzema je la koro.

And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.

Bruema kaj vagema; Ŝiaj piedoj ne loĝas en ŝia domo.

(She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

Jen ŝi estas sur la strato, jen sur la placoj, Kaj apud ĉiu angulo ŝi embuskas.

Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)

Kaj ŝi kaptis lin, kaj kisis lin Kun senhonta vizaĝo, kaj diris al li:

So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,

Mi devis alporti dankan oferdonon; Hodiaŭ mi plenumis mian solenan promeson.

I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows.

Tial mi eliris al vi renkonte, Por serĉi vian vizaĝon, kaj mi vin trovis.

Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.

Mi bele kovris mian liton Per multkoloraj teksaĵoj el Egiptujo.

I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

Mi parfumis mian kuŝejon Per mirho, aloo, kaj cinamo.

I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

Venu, ni ĝuu sufiĉe volupton ĝis la mateno, Ni plezuriĝu per la amo.

Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

Ĉar mia edzo ne estas hejme, Li iris en malproksiman vojon;

For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

La sakon kun mono li prenis kun si; Li revenos hejmen je la plenluno.

He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

Ŝi forlogis lin per sia multeparolado, Per sia glata buŝo ŝi lin entiris.

With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

Li tuj iras post ŝi, Kiel bovo iras al la buĉo Kaj kiel katenita malsaĝulo al la puno;

He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

Ĝis sago fendas al li la hepaton; Kiel birdo rapidas al la kaptilo, Kaj ne scias, ke ĝi pereigas sian vivon.

Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.

Kaj nun, infanoj, aŭskultu min, Atentu la vortojn de mia buŝo.

Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

Via koro ne flankiĝu al ŝia vojo, Ne eraru sur ŝia irejo;

Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

Ĉar multajn ŝi vundis kaj faligis, Kaj multegaj estas ŝiaj mortigitoj.

For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

Ŝia domo estas vojoj al Ŝeol, Kiuj kondukas malsupren al la ĉambroj de la morto.

Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.
