Ephesians 2

Kaj vin li vivigis, kiam vi estis malvivaj per eraroj kaj pekoj,

And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;

en kiuj vi iam iradis laŭ la vojo de ĉi tiu mondo, laŭ la estro de la potenco de la aero, de la spirito, kiu nun energias en la filoj de malobeo;

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

inter kiuj ni ĉiuj iam ankaŭ vivis, plenumante la dezirojn de nia karno, farante la volojn de la karno kaj de la menso, kaj ni estis laŭ naturo infanoj de kolerego, kiel ankaŭ la aliaj.

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

Sed Dio, estante riĉa en kompateco, pro Sia granda amo, per kiu Li amis nin,

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

eĉ kiam ni estis malvivaj en niaj eraroj, nin vivigis en Kristo (per graco vi saviĝis),

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

kaj nin levis, kaj nin kunsidigis en la ĉielejoj en Kristo Jesuo;

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

por montri en la mondaĝoj estontaj la superabundan riĉecon de Sia graco en korfavoro al ni en Kristo Jesuo:

That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

ĉar per graco vi saviĝis per fido; ne per vi mem: ĝi estas dono de Dio;

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

ne el faroj, por ke neniu fanfaronu.

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ĉar ni estas Lia faritaĵo, kreitaj en Kristo Jesuo por bonaj faroj, kiujn antaŭaranĝis Dio, por ke ni iradu en ili.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Kaj pro tio rememoru, ke iam vi, nacianoj laŭ la karno, nomataj la Necirkumcido ĉe la tiel nomata Cirkumcido, mane farita sur la karno —

Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

ke vi estis tiam sen Kristo, fremdigitaj for de la komunumo de Izrael, kaj eksteruloj de la interligoj de la promeso, esperon ne havantaj kaj sen Dio en la mondo.

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

Sed nun en Kristo Jesuo vi, iam malproksimaj, proksimiĝis en la sango de Kristo.

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Ĉar nia paco estas li, kiu unuigis ambaŭ kaj rompis la intermuron de disigo,

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

en sia karno neniiginte la malamon, la leĝon de ordonoj en dekretoj; por krei en si el la du unu novan homon, tiel farante pacon;

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

kaj por kunakordigi ambaŭ en unu korpo al Dio per la kruco, mortiginte per tio la malamon;

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

kaj li venis kaj predikis pacon al vi malproksimaj kaj al la proksimaj;

And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

ĉar per li ni ambaŭ havas en unu Spirito alkondukon al la Patro.

For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Sekve vi jam estas ne fremduloj kaj pasloĝantoj, sed samregnanoj kun la sanktuloj, kaj el la domanaro de Dio,

Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

konstruitaj sur la fundamento de la apostoloj kaj profetoj, kies bazangula ŝtono estas Kristo Jesuo mem;

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

en kiu ĉiu aparta konstruaĵo, bone kunigita, kreske fariĝas sankta templo en Kristo;

In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

en kiu vi ankaŭ estas kunkonstruitaj por sanktejo de Dio en la Spirito.

In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
