Přednímu zpěváku na neginot, žalm Davidův.

Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

Když volám, vyslyš mne, Bože spravedlnosti mé. Ty jsi mi v úzkosti prostranství způsoboval, smiluj se nade mnou, a vyslyš modlitbu mou.

O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah.

Synové lidští, dokudž sláva má v potupě bude? Dlouho-liž marnost milovati a lži hledati budete? Sélah.

But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

Vězte, žeť jest oddělil Hospodin sobě milého. Vyslyšíť mne Hospodin, když k němu volati budu.

Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

Uleknětež se a nehřešte, přemyšlujte o tom v srdci svém, na ložci svém, a umlkněte. Sélah.

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

Obětujte oběti spravedlnosti, a doufejte v Hospodina.

There be many that say, Who will shew us any good? LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us.

Mnozí říkají: Ó bychom viděti mohli dobré věci. Hospodine, pozdvihni nad námi jasného oblíčeje svého,

Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine increased.

I způsobíš radost v srdci mém větší, než oni mívají, když obilé a víno jejich se obrodí. [ (Psalms 4:9) Jáť u pokoji i lehnu i spáti budu; nebo ty, Hospodine, sám způsobíš mi bydlení bezpečné. ]

I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
