Numbers 12

A Mirjam i Aron uzeše rogoboriti protiv Mojsija zbog žene Kušanke kojom se oženio; jer bijaše uzeo za ženu jednu Kušanku.

And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.

"Zar je samo Mojsiju govorio Jahve?" - rekoše mu. "Zar i nama nije govorio?" Jahve to ču.

And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it.

Mojsije je bio veoma skroman čovjek, najskromniji čovjek na zemlji.

(Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)

I odmah reče Jahve Mojsiju, Aronu i Mirjami: "Vas se troje pojavite u Šatoru sastanka." Njih se troje pojavi.

And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.

U stupu oblaka siđe Jahve te stade na ulazu u Šator. Zovnu Arona i Mirjamu. Kad njih dvoje istupi naprijed,

And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.

reče Jahve: "Saslušajte riječi moje: Nađe li se među vama prorok, u viđenju njemu ja se javljam, u snu njemu progovaram.

And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.

Ali nije tako sa slugom mojim Mojsijem. Od svih u kući mojoj najvjerniji je on.

My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.

Iz usta u usta njemu ja govorim, očevidnošću, a ne zagonetkama, i lik Jahvin on smije gledati. Kako se onda niste bojali govoriti protiv sluge moga Mojsija?"

With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?

Uskipjevši gnjevom na njih, Jahve ode.

And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.

Čim se od šatora oblak udaljio, gle! Mirjam ogubavi, kao snijegom posuta. Aron se okrenu prema Mirjami, a to guba na njoj.

And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.

Tada rekne Aron Mojsiju: "Gospodaru moj, ne svaljuj na nas kazne za grijeh koji smo u ludosti počinili i kojega smo krivci.

And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.

Ne daj da ona ostane kao mrtvo dijete kojemu je već na izlasku iz majčine utrobe meso napol uništeno!"

Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.

Tada zavapi Mojsije Jahvi: "Bože, molim te, ozdravi je!"

And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.

"Da joj je otac njezin pljunuo u lice", reče Jahve Mojsiju, "zar se ne bi morala stidjeti sedam dana? Neka i ona bude odvojena izvan tabora sedam dana, pa neka se poslije opet pripusti."

And the LORD said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.

Tako je Mirjam bila odvojena izvan tabora sedam dana. Narod nije na put polazio dok Mirjam nije opet bila pripuštena.

And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.

Poslije toga narod krenu iz Haserota i utabori se u pustinji Paranu.

And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.
