Genesis 48

След това съобщиха на Йосиф: Ето, баща ти е болен. И той взе със себе си двамата си сина, Манасия и Ефрем, да отидат при него.

And it came to pass after these things, that one told Joseph, Behold, thy father is sick: and he took with him his two sons, Manasseh and Ephraim.

И съобщиха на Яков, като казаха: Ето, синът ти Йосиф идва при теб. Тогава Израил събра силите си и седна на леглото.

And one told Jacob, and said, Behold, thy son Joseph cometh unto thee: and Israel strengthened himself, and sat upon the bed.

И Яков каза на Йосиф: Всемогъщият Бог ми се яви в Луз, в ханаанската земя и ме благослови, като ми каза:

And Jacob said unto Joseph, God Almighty appeared unto me at Luz in the land of Canaan, and blessed me,

Ето, Аз ще те направя плодовит, ще те умножа и ще направя да произлязат от теб множество народи; и ще дам тази земя на потомството ти след теб за вечно притежание.

And said unto me, Behold, I will make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, and I will make of thee a multitude of people; and will give this land to thy seed after thee for an everlasting possession.

И сега, двамата ти сина, които ти се родиха в египетската земя, преди да дойда аз при теб в Египет, са мои — Ефрем и Манасия ще бъдат мои, също както Рувим и Симеон.

And now thy two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, which were born unto thee in the land of Egypt before I came unto thee into Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine.

А децата, които родиш след тях, ще бъдат твои, а колкото за наследството си, ще се наричат с името на тези свои братя.

And thy issue, which thou begettest after them, shall be thine, and shall be called after the name of their brethren in their inheritance.

А когато се връщах от Падан, на пътя в ханаанската земя ми умря Рахил, като оставаше едно малко разстояние да стигнем до Ефрат. И там я погребах, край пътя за Ефрат, който е Витлеем.

And as for me, when I came from Padan, Rachel died by me in the land of Canaan in the way, when yet there was but a little way to come unto Ephrath: and I buried her there in the way of Ephrath; the same is Beth–lehem.

И като съгледа синовете на Йосиф, Израил каза: Кои са тези?

And Israel beheld Joseph's sons, and said, Who are these?

А Йосиф каза на баща си: Това са синовете ми, които Бог ми даде тук. А той каза: Моля те, доведи ги при мен, за да ги благословя.

And Joseph said unto his father, They are my sons, whom God hath given me in this place. And he said, Bring them, I pray thee, unto me, and I will bless them.

А очите на Израил бяха помрачени от старост и не можеше да вижда. И Йосиф ги приближи при него, а той ги целуна и ги прегърна.

Now the eyes of Israel were dim for age, so that he could not see. And he brought them near unto him; and he kissed them, and embraced them.

И Израил каза на Йосиф: Не се надявах да видя лицето ти, но ето, Бог ми показа и потомството ти!

And Israel said unto Joseph, I had not thought to see thy face: and, lo, God hath shewed me also thy seed.

И Йосиф ги отведе от колената му и се поклони с лице до земята.

And Joseph brought them out from between his knees, and he bowed himself with his face to the earth.

И после Йосиф ги взе двамата, Ефрем с дясната си ръка към лявата на Израил, а Манасия с лявата си ръка към дясната на Израил, и ги доведе при него.

And Joseph took them both, Ephraim in his right hand toward Israel's left hand, and Manasseh in his left hand toward Israel's right hand, and brought them near unto him.

А Израил простря дясната си ръка и я възложи на главата на Ефрем, който беше по-младият, а лявата си ръка — на главата на Манасия, като нарочно кръстоса ръцете си, защото Манасия беше първородният.

And Israel stretched out his right hand, and laid it upon Ephraim's head, who was the younger, and his left hand upon Manasseh's head, guiding his hands wittingly; for Manasseh was the firstborn.

И благослови Йосиф и каза: Бог, пред когото ходиха бащите ми Авраам и Исаак, Бог, който ме е пасъл през целия ми живот до този ден,

And he blessed Joseph, and said, God, before whom my fathers Abraham and Isaac did walk, the God which fed me all my life long unto this day,

Ангелът, който ме избави от всяко зло, нека благослови момчетата, и нека се нарече на тях моето име и името на бащите ми Авраам и Исаак, и нека нараснат в голямо множество сред земята!

The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and let my name be named on them, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

Но като видя Йосиф, че баща му възложи дясната си ръка на главата на Ефрем, не одобри и хвана ръката на баща си, за да я премести от главата на Ефрем на главата на Манасия.

And when Joseph saw that his father laid his right hand upon the head of Ephraim, it displeased him: and he held up his father's hand, to remove it from Ephraim's head unto Manasseh's head.

И Йосиф каза на баща си: Не така, татко мой, защото този е първородният — възложи дясната си ръка на неговата глава!

And Joseph said unto his father, Not so, my father: for this is the firstborn; put thy right hand upon his head.

Но баща му отказа, като рече: Зная, сине мой, зная. И той ще стане народ, и той ще бъде велик, но по-младият му брат ще бъде по-голям от него и потомството му ще стане множество народи.

And his father refused, and said, I know it, my son, I know it: he also shall become a people, and he also shall be great: but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his seed shall become a multitude of nations.

И така, в онзи ден ги благослови, като каза: С теб Израил ще благославя, като казва: Бог да те направи като Ефрем и като Манасия! И постави Ефрем пред Манасия.

And he blessed them that day, saying, In thee shall Israel bless, saying, God make thee as Ephraim and as Manasseh: and he set Ephraim before Manasseh.

След това Израил каза на Йосиф: Ето, аз умирам, но Бог ще бъде с вас и ще ви върне пак в земята на бащите ви.

And Israel said unto Joseph, Behold, I die: but God shall be with you, and bring you again unto the land of your fathers.

И на теб давам един дял повече отколкото на братята ти, който взех от ръцете на аморейците с меча си и с лъка си.

Moreover I have given to thee one portion above thy brethren, which I took out of the hand of the Amorite with my sword and with my bow.
